Who processes your data

The data controller is Otello Lizzul, a private host (iznajmljivač u domaćinstvu), Velebitska 4, 51000 Rijeka, Croatia, who rents out the holiday house Villa Otello, Topid 22, 52220 Labin. For any question about your data write to villa.otello@gmail.com.

Which data we process

When you send an enquiry through the form on this site: your name, email, phone (if you enter it), country, requested dates, number of adults, children and pets, your message and the language you wrote in.

When you confirm a booking: in addition, the data required by Croatian law for registering guests in the eVisitor system (full name, date of birth, nationality, type and number of ID document, home address). We ask for these only after confirmation, never in the enquiry itself.

Technical data: the server hosting this site (Hostinger) records the IP address, time and requested page in standard access logs. Visit statistics (Google Analytics) are enabled only if you accept them in the cookie notice.

Why and on which legal basis

• Replying to your enquiry and preparing an offer: steps prior to entering into an accommodation contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Guest registration, turnover records and invoices: our legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
• Anonymous visit statistics: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

Who else sees the data

We do not sell your data or pass it on for marketing. We use these service providers who process it on our behalf:

• Google Ireland Ltd.: Google Sheets (our enquiry and booking records), Gmail (email), Google Apps Script (receiving form enquiries), Google Analytics (statistics, only with consent) and Google Maps (the map on the site).
• Hostinger International Ltd.: website hosting.
• Airbnb: only if you booked through Airbnb, under their terms.
• The eVisitor system (Croatian National Tourist Board) and the authorities: legally required guest registration.

Google services may process data outside the European Economic Area; for such transfers Google relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep the data

• An enquiry that did not become a booking: 12 months after the enquiry, then deleted.
• Booking data and invoices: as long as tax and accounting regulations require.
• Guest registration data: for the periods prescribed by the eVisitor system.
• Your cookie decision: 12 months in your browser.

Your rights

You may request access to your data, its correction or deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and you may object to processing. You can withdraw your consent to statistics by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer. To exercise your rights write to villa.otello@gmail.com; we reply within 30 days. If you believe we process your data unlawfully, you may complain to the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (azop.hr).
